Job Description:

No experience is required to apply. Experienced helpers are also encouraged to apply and skills will be evaluated. Employees will be trained and paid hourly. Full-time and part-time

positions are available. Subcontracts are also accepted.

Job Summary:

Helper assists lead technician installing correctly HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, and controls by:

• Starting up the new system and fine-tuning the operation of the system including wiring, refrigerant levels, duct airflow, blowers, etc.

• Understanding and abiding by local installation code and manufacturer specifications in all aspects of installation

• Educating and informing the customer about their heating or cooling system and its proper operation, programming and maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):

• Receive work orders, load equipment, and materials as ordered, catch errors or oversights

• Safely operate large cargo van to the designated jobsite, following all company vehicle policies

• Ascertain scope of work and identify potential design or operational problems

• Remove existing HVAC or heating equipment and ductwork, safely recovering all refrigerant in accordance with applicable legal guidelines

• Prepping worksite and setting up new equipment

• Completely connect and seal ductwork and equipment per local code and manufacturer’s specifications

• Wire both high and low voltage neatly and correctly

• Connect refrigerant piping, braze piping, and pressure test, always weighing in refrigerant

• Correctly install vent pipe per code with urgent attention to customer safety

• Clean up worksite removing all debris, leaving it in as good or better condition as it was when we arrived

• Answer all customer questions, collect payment and explain thermostat operation

• Put all appropriate information into SAS, making job notes and information as complete as possible

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to work in extreme weather and climate conditions (hot attics, year-round outdoor conditions, etc.)

• Must be able to stand, crawl, bend, stoop, kneel or climb repeatedly, or for long periods of time

• Must be able to lift or carry up to 75 pounds unassisted, and lift above shoulder level

• Must be able to work in tight, poorly lit and cramped conditions

• Must be able to climb ladders and occasionally work at height

• Must be able to execute all of the above functions and meet all of the above demands safely, posing no threat to themselves or those around them while doing so, and must willingly comply with applicable safety regulations in the completion of all work
